The township of Baralaba has a population of approximately 260 therefore we are the only school. Our programs cater for Prep to Year 10 providing quality educational experiences for both Baralaba and Woorabinda students. First established as a Primary School in 1921, since then the school has undergone many extensions to include Year 8-10 in 1964. Whilst the school is only small, we are very much aware that we are preparing our students for life and work in the 21 Century. Our staff are both professional and very committed to providing quality learning outcomes for all of our students. Students will experience specialist subjects such as Health and Physical Education, Home Economics and Manual Arts. We also have experienced staff to support students with learning difficulties, a Guidance Officer who visits fortnightly, a Chaplain two days a week and a Head of Special Education who supports students with a disability staff on a regular basis.

Baralaba State School is a uniform school and to this we encourage all our students to wear full school uniform with pride. We also have high expectations with behaviour that is supported by a well designed Responsible Behaviour Plan for students.
